Extremities

When joint function is not properly working, there is reduced range of motion, inflammation, calcium buildup, and scar tissue that forms.  This is typically caused from falls, slips, trauma, repetitive motions, posture, too much exertion, and many other causes.   Extremity conditions such as “tennis elbow”, “runner’s knee”, “frozen shoulder”, and “carpal tunnel syndrome” are diagnosed.  The impaired function of the elbow and other extremity joints of the body can often be helped with proper chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care is often commonly understood as care for the spine but it can be done to elbows, wrists, and every other joint of the human body. Helping to restore normal range of motion to joints that have become “locked-up”, “fixed”, or injured, seems to improve blood circulation which in turn will increase healing, reduce pain and inflammation and decrease scar tissue.

Dr. Whitney Rutledge is uniquely trained to find and help restore proper joint function of the spine and the extremities.

Orthotics

Problems in the feet can cause a “chain reaction” of symptoms in the ankles, knees, hips and spine. When needed, special foot supports can help improve fallen arches, feet that turn in or out as well as many other mechanical abnormalities of the feet. This results in improved body alignment and decreased postural stress to all weight bearing joints. Orthotic supports are offered in unique sizes and shapes and are designed to slip into your shoes and can mold to your feet, for your comfort and to address your specific problem. Orthoics provide whole-body support by effectively balancing your feet – the body’s foundation.
